Upper Tal-y-Fan Farm is set in 58 acres of beautiful Monmouthshire countryside. The Grade II* listed farm house dates back to medieval times. Mallards Barn & Oaklands Cottage were converted in 2010 & 2014 respectively, offering visitors peaceful and relaxing self catering holiday cottages in the heart of Monmouthshire. The Cygnet Studio has recently been fully refurbished, a cozy bijoux studio offering guests the self catering experience on a smaller scale but with all the ambience associated with the farm.
We have natural springs that together with field run-off feed our two ponds, that have a couple of resident Mute Swans. At times you may be lucky and see various duck species, and in 2024 Tufted Duck successfully bred and hatched 5 ducklings. If you are visiting in April or May you might just be in time to see our Mute Swan cygnets, Canada Geese goslings, Mallard ducklings and Moorhen chicks amongst others.
Conservation of our wildlife and habitats is high on our agenda and we ask all visitors to respect this by staying at a respectful distance. Dogs must be on a lead at all times.
